Vision & Mission

petrolium-banner [grid_18] Vision Vision of this department is to be a world class provider of education and research for oil & gas industry and to become leader in providing new technologies in order to increase the petroleum reserves. Mission Our mission is to provide a modern education in petroleum engineering with theory and practice and to prepare petroleum engineers for lifelong learning and capable of being productive contributors for the oil & gas industry. [/grid_18] [grid_6] [/grid_6]

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  1. Petroleum Engineering supports the mission of the university and the college through its undergraduate program by providing students with an appropriate curriculum and educational experience.
  2. Be practical, employable and qualified petroleum engineers, who effectively solve problems and design new processes and workflows in the oil and gas production and services industries or other similar pursuits. Many will have started to move into leadership roles within their workplace.
  3. Keep their education up to date through self-instruction and other training.
  4. Serve society by encouraging the ideals of ethical behavior, professionalism, and environmentally responsible use of natural resources.

Program System Objectives (PSOs):

  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering. and ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  2. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
Society of Petroleum Engineers

In 1957, the organization was officially founded as SPE, a constituent society of AIME. SPE became a separately incorporated organization in 1985. AIME was founded in 1871 in Pennsylvania, USA, to advance the production of metals, minerals, and energy resources through the application of engineering. In 1913, a standing committee on oil and gas was created within AIME and proved to be the genesis of SPE. The Oil and Gas Committee of AIME soon evolved into the Petroleum Division of AIME as membership grew and as interest among the members was more clearly delineated among the mining, metallurgical, and petroleum specializations

Activities The society conducts workshops, conferences and faculty development programmes periodically to upgrade their students and faculty members. Members: Students : 40 ISTE

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a national, non-profit making professional body, registered under the society's registration Act of 1860. Started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APII), later it was converted into "Indian Society for Technical Education", New Delhi in 1986 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technical education in the country. It is the only national organisation of educators in the field of engineering and technology. ISTE Students' Chapter for Petroleum Department has been established in 2014. It is mandatory for all faculty members of the Institution to be a part of ISTE society.

 Activities

From then till now this Chapter has taken the lead role in carrying on the various co curricular and extracurricular activities in this college. Apart from a number of other activities, this chapter yearly hosts various inter-college events that take the young technocrats to the next level.
