Roles & Responsibilities of Mentor
A Mentor adorns the role of a second parent in whom the mentee confides. Holistic development of a mentee is the sole concern of a mentor. A Mentor is a Friend, Philosopher and Guide who strives for the betterment of his students with a selfless attitude like a parent. Mentoring is a unique method of supporting students to improve their learning and leadership skills, motivating them towards their future career development.
The Counselling Committee encourages the students to understand themselves and the issues that trouble them and guides them to resolve their problems. These problems can be personal emotional, social, family, peer, academic etc. One to one counselling sessions with the student counsellor helps our students to sort out these issues and unburden themselves of their problems. By making the session light and interactive, the students counsellor creates a conducive environment for the students to facilitate effective communication.
Counselling helps the students concentrate better on their studies without getting emotionally drained by others issues.

Roles & Responsibilities of Committee Members
A Grievance Redressal Committee has been formed in LIET college to settle genuine grievances of students, staff and parents up to a satisfaction level so as to create a healthy relationship among the student and staff. The committee is requested to contribute effectively to dispose the grievances at the earliest. The students can state their grievance regarding any academic and non-academic matter within the campus through the grievance suggestion box. The Institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within stipulated time.
The committee members prepare mentor –mentee as per the prescribe ratio.
- Prepare mentoring and Counselling schedules and ensure their conduct.
- Prepare counselling forms, collect the duly filled ones and prepare counselling reports.
- Maintain the records and file all the activities conducted and submit the same to the Student Counselling and Mentoring Committee.
Roles & Responsibilities of Coordinators
- The coordinator should try to redress the grievance within a reasonable time, preferably within a week of the receipt of the complaint.
- If the student is not satisfied with the decision of the programme coordinator, then the case may be placed before the Head of the Institution that is the Principal.
- The Principal shall, if necessary refer the same to the respective college level committee.
Roles & Responsibilities of Faculty Members
- To enlighten the students on their duties and responsibilities to access benefits due to under the policies.
- To established structured interaction with the students to elicit information on their expectations.
Roles & Responsibilities of Students Members
The Institution provides mechanism to the students for redressal of their grievance with regard to their complaints on academic and nonacademic matters. On approval, the final decision would be communicated to the students through the concerned Head of the Institute. An aggrieved student who has any grievances at the Programme level shall make an application first to the Programme Coordinator/Class Coordinator/ Mentor for the case. Students develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
