Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology (LIET) got selected under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme the flagship program of Ministry of Education, Government of India in technical collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Delhi) to adopt five villages namely Qutubuddinguda, Yelkaguda and Medpally villages of Moinabad Mandal, Sagar and Darga of Rajendranagar Mandal, Ranga Reddy District of Telangana State in consultation with office of the Ranga Reddy District Collector and respective Panchayat office, Government of Telangana.
Students and Faculty members who are serving as NSS volunteers visited Yelkaguda to interact with the locals in the village and identify the problems faced by them in their day-to-day life. The engineering students under the supervision of their professors will then carry out their research and provide innovative and entrepreneurial solutions through technology intervention.
The volunteers had earlier conducted a survey at Qutubuddinguda Village in March 2021 and proposed many solutions to identified problems and got rewarded during the Independence Day Celebrations. Due to the Lockdown and prevailing pandemic situation the second survey at Yelkaguda was conducted on 26th August 2021 where Mr. M. Venkatesh, Upa-Sarpanch and Mr. K. Devender Reddy, Panchayat Secretary of Yelkaguda Village offered their local support. The remaining three villages will be completed before the end of this year soon after the completion of the examinations for students.
